Rooted in Mexican tradition, yet poised to reach a wider audience, De La Calle was a unique project. Partnering with Here Studio, we embarked on a collaborative journey to bring founder Alex Matthews' vision to life. My role spanned multiple facets: crafting authentic packaging designs, laying the brand's foundation, and launching it through a captivating video and user-friendly website.

But this project wasn't just about design. It demanded navigating the nuanced dance of cultural respect and accessibility. We engaged in deep, sometimes uncomfortable, conversations about reciprocity and appropriation, ultimately leading to a brand built on integrity and responsibility. The result? De La Calle became a nationally recognized name, gracing Whole Foods shelves across North America. This success validates the importance of approaching cultural experiences with respect and open dialogue, paving the way for future brands to engage authentically with diverse communities.
